My name is Amber Powell. I live in Lexington, SC with my husband. We have 3 children- 1 son (5.5 years old) and twin girls (2 years old). One of our twins has down syndrome. I spend a lot of time at church, with friends, with my kids, working out, and being outdoors. I have been working in the field for 12 years, and a BCBA for 6 years.
I take a natural approach to my practice. I value children learning in their natural environment, and learning through play and natural experiences and situations that they encounter day to day.
I enjoy working with families and parents. I also enjoy training RBTS. Mostly, my favorite part of working in this field is seeing things click for my clients and see them make progress that will impact their day to day life.
I love to see my clients grow in all areas, and to help improve their quality of life. I love to teach the parents I work with more about ABA, and work closely with them on what matters to them for their child.
You can expect me to give my best to my clients, RBTs, and their families. If something isn't working, I know that some things work differently for different kids - and I'm not afraid to switch it up and try something new. You should expect fun, compassion, and eagerness to help your child thrive.
