About Me

I have been passionate about the field of special education for as long as I can remember. My journey began at the age of five, when my mother served as the Director of a special education collaborative where I frequently volunteered. Through these early experiences, I developed a deep appreciation for the students and families served by the special education community. That passion eventually led me to begin working for the organization as a paraprofessional and later as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). During my eight years as an SLPA, I had the opportunity to collaborate with incredible occupational therapists, physical therapists, and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). These experiences sparked my passion for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and inspired me to pursue a career in the field. Today, I feel incredibly fortunate to do work that I love and to have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals and families I support. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. My husband and I have two children, ages six and nine, along with two beloved fur babies—an Italian Greyhound and a Whippet. On the weekends, you can usually find me relaxing by the pool, gardening, working out at the gym, or making memories with family and friends!

How I Practice

I love connecting with my clients and supporting them through a collaborative, individualized approach to care. During supervision sessions, I prioritize meaningful engagement with clinicians, clients, and their families, fostering open communication, collaboration, and shared problem-solving. I value the opportunity to brainstorm ideas, learn from others, and work together to develop effective, practical strategies. I believe ABA should never be a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead of following a rigid curriculum, I focus on identifying and building the skills that are most meaningful to each client’s unique needs, goals, and everyday life. My ultimate goal is to ensure that the skills we teach promote independence, enhance quality of life, and make a meaningful difference for each individual and their family.

My Favorite Experience Working In This Field

It’s hard to choose just one favorite experience because it’s the everyday wins, big and small, that make this field so rewarding! Seeing my clients learn new skills, overcome challenges, gain independence, and celebrate their accomplishments is what makes me love what I do. Every milestone is meaningful, and being able to be part of their journeys and celebrate their progress alongside them and their families is truly the best part of my job!

Why I Love What I Do

I love what I do because every day brings new opportunities to learn, grow, problem-solve, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. I find so much fulfillment in helping individuals build meaningful skills, increase independence, and overcome challenges so they can reach their fullest potential. One of the things I love most about ABA is that it is an ever-evolving field that encourages continuous learning, professional growth, and the opportunity to explore new approaches. I also truly value the collaborative nature of this work and the opportunity to partner with families, clinicians, and other professionals to create individualized, meaningful outcomes for the individuals we support.

What You Can Expect From Me

While I tend to be a “go with the flow” person, I also thrive on routine, organization, and consistency. You can count on me to be punctual, present, and actively engaged during meetings and supervision sessions. I love being hands-on, participating in sessions, and building meaningful connections with my clients, technicians, and their families. I strive to be approachable, supportive, and an effective communicator who values everyone's input and perspective. I truly believe that teamwork makes the dream work! I am always happy to lend a helping hand, collaborate with others, and provide support to colleagues and families as we work together toward shared goals and meaningful outcomes for our clients.
